As a game, PUBG is focused on delivering action around every corner, but is reliant on players to keep the matches moving along smoothly. It’s no surprise that people question the humanity of many of their opponents. So, are there bots in PUBG?
Does PUBG Include Bots in Each Round?
To ensure everyone experiences a shootout or two per round, KRAFTON does feature bots in PUBG. They’re quite rare for most players left in the community. On average, a regular player will see approximately 5% of bots in each game. But a new player who doesn’t have much experience in the game will likely see about 80% bots per game. It’s a massive disparity.
That said, there is word within the game’s community that developer KRAFTON increased the number of bots per lobby. The rumor claims that 20% of every lobby in the game is now made up of bots. If true, that’s a sizable number of AI on the battlefield!
Do All PUBG Games Have Bots?
If we go by the percentages mentioned previously, every game of PUBG will include, at the very least, a small handful of bots. But in a sizable match, we’re talking about maybe four or five bots in a full lobby. You have to consider that a single game of PUBG can include up to 100 players. Assuming it’s a high-tier lobby with experienced players, 5% of the 100 capacity is just five. A small number of bots is necessary just to hit the player cap.
How Can You Spot a Bot in PUBG?
Even compared to a brand-new player, you can generally spot a bot in PUBG based on their behavior. For example:
- Bots move erratically, making them more of a target practice dummy for most players than any threat.
- They often fire erratically, making quick, snappy shots toward a player but not fully in their direction.
- They fire a single bullet.
- Bots do not sprint.
