Are Boats and Planes in The Crew Motorfest?

Sail and fly in style?

With The Crew Motorfest newly announced and showcased at the Ubisoft Forward 2023 event, many fans of the racing series have noticed the shift in focus that Ubisoft has brought with this sequel. Let’s face it – Motorfest is very inspired by Forza Horizon to say the least. The festival, exotic location, and razor-sharp focus on the car culture are just some of the elements that make The Crew Motorfest very similar to the Playground franchise.

However, fans who enjoyed The Crew 2 wonder if this sequel will have some other elements more similar to the previous game in its series. Specifically, will it still be possible to race boats and planes in addition to the great focus on cars in the game? Let’s find out.

Are Boats and Planes Still Playable in The Crew Motorfest?

Ubisoft has always had this strange idea that the more is better, and guided by that philosophy they added speed boats and racing planes to The Crew 2 in addition to cars, because – why not? During the promotion of The Crew Motorfest, there is an obvious shift in the focus on cars, but does that mean we won’t be able to race boats around or fly planes over Honolulu Island? That would be a shame! Well… the answer is out there.

If you look carefully at the promotional image above this article, you will notice the plane flying through some kind of flying obstacle, and also in the lower left, just a few pixels in size, there seem to be two or three boats. Although no aircraft nor watercraft have been seen anywhere in the early trailers and demos of The Crew Motorfest, apart from the pixel hunting in the promotional image, their existence in the game has actually been confirmed, but in a roundabout way. The Hummer company has confirmed that there will be ships and planes in The Crew Motorfest just like in The Crew 2. It has also been confirmed that players will be able to import their The Crew 2 garage into The Crew Motorfest, possibly including boats and planes as well.

UPDATE (September 2023): Just a week before The Crew Motorsport launches (September 11, 2023), Ubisoft finally revealed a complete list of all driveable vehicles for the game on their official webpage – confirming that the boats, planes, motorbikes, and even one quad are indeed coming back to the new game!
