The maracas are marvelous.

With the Festivale seasonal event in full swing, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have been asking where they can get the Maracas they’ve seen others sporting in pictures lately.

Unlike the Viva Festivale Reaction Set, you won’t have to spend Bells to get these Maracas. Confused? Here’s where you get the Maracas in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons | Where To Get Maracas

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can get a free gift in the form of Maracas as part of the Festivale seasonal event. To get your free Maracas, all you need to do is head over to your home and open up your mailbox.

Inside, you should see a letter from Nintendo. The letter will thank you for downloading the latest update, and will have a Present attached. Grab the Present, then open it up in your inventory to access your new Maracas.

The Maracas are a musical instrument, so not only can you hold them as you wander around your island, you can also shake them. To shake the Maracas and add some festivity to your island, press A repeatedly.

Note that while the Festivale event runs until February 15, you can pick up your Maracas at any time. The letter from Nintendo will remain in your mailbox until you open it up and read it, so no worries if you end up missing the Festivale event.

Of course, we do recommend getting the Maracas before the event ends as they’re a nice addition to the Festivale items you can decorate your island with, and Festivale clothing you can wear.

It’s just a ton of cheerfulness in a time when we all could use it most, at least, we think so.

Again, the Maracas can be found in your mailbox attached to a letter from Nintendo thanking you for downloading the latest update. The Maracas will stay in your mailbox until you open the letter, even after the Festivale event ends.
