If you’ve been excited for Animal Crossing: New Horizons after the latest Nintendo Direct, then you’re definitely not alone. We’re practically frothing for the features that are being introduced, but as long-time fans, we’re very keen to see that New Leaf players are going to be rewarded for their dedication to the franchise too. Animal Crossing: New Horizons Amiibo Support

If you’ve been collecting Animal Crossing Amiibos for ages like most of the series’ dedicated fanbase, you may have been wondering whether or not they’d be good for anything come New Horizons. A press release from Nintendo has confirmed that New Horizons is going to support Amiibo figures and cards from the franchise, and that you’re going to be able to invite them to hang out with you on your island too! 

Ther’s going to be a place called Photophia where you can spend time with the villagers that are spirited into your Animal Crossing: New Horizons save via the powers of Amiibo magic, and you’ll be able to have photoshoots with them and more. Now if that doesn’t sound like fun, we don’t know what does! You’ll also be able to make sure that these villagers spend some time at your campsite if you want to kick back and relax with the best of them. 

Now that you know a little bit more about how Animal Crossing New Horizons Amiibo support, you can start supplementing your existing collection with the villagers that you’re missing. We reckon it’s pretty likely that we’ll see a price drop nearer to New Horizons’ release date, especially with some of the legacy Amiibos, so it’s definitely the right time to be making a list of who you want to visit your island and checking it twice.
