Ah, the Wilderness. The RuneScape location that makes or breaks the game. No player can ever forget when Jagex removed it from the game. The absolute uproar, the decline in players, and eventually the poll to bring it back. Now, there are a large variety of reasons to enter the Wilderness. The obvious is that it is the area to player kill, but also to collect resources and skills and participate in distractions and diversions. Wilderness Flash Events are one such distraction and diversion in RuneScape, and there is a range of events to participate in.

Complete List of RuneScape Wilderness Flash Events

Wilderness Flash Events are short events that occur hourly in numerous locations in the Wilderness. To find out more information about the event, players can talk to Nikkel and Wandering Ramokee in Edgeville. There are a variety of Wilderness Flash Events which can range from combat skill-based, non-combat skill-based, and both combined.

Note: You will need to be a member to participate in the following events:

Spider SwarmCombat event in which players must kill a horde of spiders that come their way in five minutes. Each player must deal at least 70000 damage to be considered as having had participated in the event. Look out for dungeon, ice and night spiders.
Rewards: a combat XP lamp and a sack of wild rewards.
Unnatural OutcropNon-combat event in which players must collect strange ore from unnatural outcrops. There are individual and group targets on strange ore collected that is calculated based on the number of participants in the event. The players have five minutes before the unnatural outcrops disappear and all strange ore must be submitted to the Zamorakian miner.
Rewards: a sack of wild rewards and Mining experience.
Demon StragglersCombat event in which players must kill a horde of greater demons that come their way in five minutes. Each player must deal at least 70000 damage to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: a combat XP lamp and a sack of wild rewards.
Butterfly SwarmNon-combat event in which players must collect butterflies whilst avoiding poisonous butterflies. There are individual and group targets on butterflies collected that is calculated based on the number of participants in the event. The players have five minutes before the butterflies disappear and all butterflies must be submitted to the demon hunter.
Rewards: Hunter experience and a sack of wild rewards.
King Black Dragon RampageCombat event in which players must kill the King Black Dragon alongside the freezing black dragon, a poison black dragon, and a shocking black dragon in five minutes. The King Black Dragon must be defeated with the player having dealt 35000 to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: a combat XP lamp, a sack of wild rewards, and a sack of very wild rewards, and potentially the king black dragon scale.
Forgotten SoldiersCombat event in which players must kill up to a total of 100 forgotten mages, rangers, and warriors that come their way in five minutes. Each player must deal at least 70000 damage to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: a combat XP lamp and a sack of wild rewards.
Surprising SeedlingsNon-combat event in which players must grow seedling sprouts into strange flower sprouts and then poisonous hollyhock, Wilderness iris, and Wilderness rose bushes. Players have to collect the Wilderness iris and Wilderness rose bushes and avoid the poisonous hollyhock. There are individual and group targets on bushes collected with individuals needing to collect at least seven bushes to be considered as having had participated in the event. Bushes must be handed into the Zamorakian farmer.
Rewards: Farming experience and a sack of wild rewards.
Hellhound PackCombat event in which players must kill a horde of hellhounds that come their way in five minutes. Each player must deal at least 70000 damage to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: a combat XP lamp and a sack of wild rewards.
Infernal StarCombat and non-combat two-part event. Initially, players must mine a star within five minutes, and there are individual and group targets on mining progress that is calculated based on the number of participants in the event. Secondly, players must kill a horde of pyrefiends that come their way in five minutes. Each player must deal at least 70000 damage to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: Part 1 – a sack of wild rewards and Mining experience. Part 2 – a combat XP lamp, a sack of wild rewards, and a sack of very wild rewards.
Lost SoulsCombat and non-combat event. Players must collect ectoplasm by either laying ghosts to rest or killing graveside phantoms. There are individual and group targets on ectoplasm collected based on the total number of participants in the event. Once collected, players must give the ectoplasm to the reanimated skeleton.
Rewards: Prayer experience and a sack of wild rewards.
Ramokee IncursionCombat event in which players must kill up to a total of 100 ramokee bloodragers, deathslingers, and stormbringers that come their way in five minutes. Each player must deal at least 70000 damage to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: a combat XP lamp and a sack of wild rewards.
Displaced EnergyNon-combat event in which players must harvest displaced energy from lost wisps. Players have to collect the displayed energy and avoid the damage dealing unstable energy. There are individual and group targets for energy harvested based on the total number of participants to be considered as having had participated in the event. Displayed energy must be handed into the Zamorakian diviner.
Rewards: Divination experience and a sack of wild rewards.
Evil Bloodwood TreeNon-combat event three-part event. Initially, players must take bones from skeletons, grind them and feed them to the sapling. There are individual and group targets on bones fed based on the total number of participants in the event. If players are successful within the five-minute timer, the sapling will turn into a evil bloodwood tree.
Part two of the event has the players chop down the evil bloodwood tree and obtaining evil tree kindling in a five-minute time period. There are individual and group targets for the evil tree kindling chopped based on the total number of participants to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Part three of the event has the players burning the Evil Bloodwood Tree using burned evil tree kindling that is harvested from the nearby fire spirits. There are individual and group targets for the damage dealt based on the total number of participants to be considered as having had participated in the event.
Rewards: Part 1 – Farming experience and a sack of wild rewards. Part 2 – Woodcutting experience and a sack of wild rewards. Part 3 – Firemaking experience, a sack of wild rewards, and a sack of very wild rewards.

Sometimes, it is a great idea to stop what you are doing and take a break. In RuneScape, that often means stopping the grind regarding experience gain and participating in either a distraction and diversion like the Wilderness Flash Events or in other limited-time events such as the hunt for the Golden Cape.
