Many of the over 1,000 Pokemon in the National Pokedex require an Evolution Stone to evolve, and it’s no different in the Paldea region, with its Pokedex featuring multiple Pokemon that can’t transform without one. Water Stones, in particular, lead to some beautiful evolutions, so without further ado, here are all the Water Stone evolutions in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The only two Pokemon that evolve using a Water Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are as follows:

  • Shellder – Evolves into Cloyster
  • Eevee – Evolves into Vaporeon

That’s literally it. Both are from Gen 1, no less. Still, it makes filling out your ‘Dex easier so we can’t complain too much.

How to Get Water Stones in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The easiest way to get Water Stones in the Paldea region is to buy them from Delibird Presents in Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa for 3,000 Pokedollars or 3,000 League Points (LP) each. They won’t unlock until you’ve beaten three Gyms though so if you haven’t and don’t plan on doing so soon, the next method may be a better fit for you.

Alternatively, you can find Fire Stones on the ground in the wild. We’ve seen the most success with obtaining them in East Province (Area Two) and behind the Cascarrafa Gym, though your mileage may vary. Look for sparkling spots on the floor and interact with them to pick them up – you never know what you might get.
