And it does! Here’s every practical use listed.

  • You can eat it. Eating Rotten Flesh, however questionable, restores 4 hunger and .8 hunger saturation. But it also has an 80% chance of inflicting Hunger (effect) for 30 seconds.
  • You can use it to breed, heal, and interact with tamed wolves. Using Rotten Flesh, you can lead tamed wolves around and can accelerate baby wolf growth by 10%.
  • You can trade it. If you have a Cleric villager, you can trade 32 Rotten Flesh for 1 emerald. Not a bad trade, all things considered.
  • You can use it to get an achievement. At least, if you’re on the PS4. This achievement is called Iron Belly, and you get it when you eat a piece of rotten flesh while starving. It’s worth 20 gamer score.
