One of the last major CS:GO tournament competitions will undoubtedly be the BLAST.tv Paris Major Tournament, but not because CS:GO is magically shutting down for good; rather, CS:GO is scheduled for evolving into Counter-Strike 2 (or CS2 as it will probably be dubbed).
