Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse – Preorder Bonuses

Exclusive to all gamers who preorder the game before its release, you’ll receive Ruka’s exclusive costume “Marie Rose.” From Dead or Alive, this lolita costume functions in short cutscenes with Ruka in it. Thanks to the newly remastered version paying heavy attention to the quality of lighting contrast and physics quality, we can expect this outfit to truly shine in the dim dark depths that will surely encompass us throughout the story.

In addition, players will also be receiving adorable Fox Masks that are unique to each following character: Ruka, Misaki, and Choshiro. Ruka’s Fox Mask will feature a white fox with red detailing, Misaki’s fox will be black with reddish-pink detailing, and lastly, Choshiro will also have a black fox mask that is black with vivid blue detailing. Each of these characters will also be able to adorn a Spirit Stone Flashlight Hat that takes over the entirety of the character’s head. Truly, 2000s games were working on modded ventures far before the mods could insert My Little Pony and Shrek into Hogwarts Legacy…

Happen to have played the new remake of Maiden of Black Water? Well, if you play the Mask of the Lunar Eclipse alongside the save data of its previous game, then you can unlock the Camera Obscura Hat. Much like the Spirit Stone Flashlight, this hat takes over the character’s head in an incredibly detailed janky-looking character who now sports a camera or a head.

But it doesn’t have to end there.

The Digital Deluxe Upgrade Pack

Did you say you want more cute items for your characters to wear? Well, Koei Tecmo is more than happy to deliver. Upgrade your purchase of the game to the Deluxe and you’ll be provided with more costumes, along with the Digital Art Book of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, and gain access to the original soundtrack of the game.

In this version, the types of costumes you can hope to unlock are the Rogetsu Isle Dinner Party Costume Set. Though why you would wear Swimsuits to a Dinner Party is slightly beyond my realm of etiquette. Ruka, Misaki, and Choshiro will all gain some unique Swimsuit attire dedicated to their individual selves. Ruka with a Japanese Swimsuit that is frilly and adorable, resembling a Miko’s outfit slightly. Misaki gets a Dancer Swimsuit, having just arrived from Fire Emblem, and Choshiro gets a rugged Guard and Surf Shorts.

Additionally in this pack, Ruka and Misaki will get an Emerald and Crimson Chinese Evening Dress as well as a Pajama set each tailored to their own personalities.

For accessories, Ruka and Misaki gain Cat ears while Choshiro is sadly left out with a boring but suiting Detective’s Hat. Lastly, Ruka, Misaki, and Madoka each gain an Organ Mask from the Rogetsu Kagura each tailored to their characters.

Can these outfits be terribly distracting from the story? Yes! But we all love an adorable outfit, it’s the only way to keep calm when ghosts are ready to pounce on us.
