The Pokemon version you have, whether Scarlet or Violet, will influence the Pokemon you encounter in the wild. To that end, you’ll need to trade to get those exclusives! Other Pokemon needed to be traded while equipped with a particular hold item. And if you don’t have a buddy on hand, getting that evolved form can be next impossible. That’s where these codes come in.

Here’s all the Indigo Disk trade codes and how the process works.

How Trade Codes Work in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk

To start a trade:

  • Head to your Poke Portal.
  • Press your ‘L’ button if you’re not connected to the internet, then head to Link Trade.
  • Input one of the codes below, then select Begin Search.

You may have to wait awhile, but you’ll eventually be connected to someone using the same code as you. The person at the other end of the trade will expect you to trade one of the two Pokemon listed.

So, if you input 0027-0037, your trade partner will expect you to be trading either an Alolan Vulpix or an Alolan Sandshrew.

But if you’re both offering the same Pokemon (for example, you both have Alolan Vulpix, but you’re both looking for Alolan Sandshrew), leave and use the code again to try to match with a new partner. Sometimes, you might match with the same person multiple times. You haven’t done anything wrong; it’s just bad luck. I recommend waiting a few minutes when this happens.

While it can be time-consuming, especially if you have Violet, this method will eventually get you a complete Pokedex!
