Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is nearly one month away, so the beta is ready to launch. As always, there are two different weekends for the Multiplayer test, and they are also based on the platform you use, so I’ll list all the details for you to follow.
When Does the MW3 Beta Start?
The Modern Warfare 3 beta begins on Friday, October 6 at 1 PM ET for PlayStation players who have early access through the Vault Edition. Weekend one will run until Tuesday, regardless of early access for the game, and will end at the same 1 PM ET designation—the weekend after is when every platform can jump into the beta.
All MW3 Beta Times Listed:
- October 6 – October 7: PlayStation Early Access (Begins at 10 am PT/1 pm ET)
- October 8 – October 10: Open Beta for PlayStation (Ends at 10 am PT/1 pm ET)
- October 12 – October 13: Early Access for all Platforms (Begins at 10 am PT/1 pm ET)
- October 14 – October 16: Open Beta for All Platforms (Ends at 10 am PT/1 pm ET)
To start playing the Early Access portions of the Modern Warfare 3 beta, you need to pre-order the game. You won’t need to purchase the Vault Edition, which is $100 in the store for the tests. However, you do need the Vault Edition if you want to play the campaign a week before the official launch.
Pre-orders will also give you access to a ghost skin for use in MW2 and MW3, but if you just want access to the beta, I recommend waiting for the open sections of the tests. You’ll have plenty of time to get some games in and test the remastered maps for yourself.
The beta will only feature five maps from the full game, so check out the full list of maps headed to Modern Warfare 3 at launch.
