How Do Locations Work in Marvel Snap?

There are different types of locations in Marvel Snap. Some are related to the movement of the cards, some restrict card placement or increase/decrease their costs, some allow you to gain additional draws or energy, some grant power in various ways, and some destroy cards or locations on the field. Finally, special ones have the ability to change the core rules of the game. The first one is revealed at the start of the game, the second one at the beginning of the second turn, and the third one at the start of the third turn.

It is useful to know that there are a few cards (and locations, too!) that alter or destroy a location. Locations are within this list, and the cards are as follows:

  • Uatu the Watcher is great if you see him in the opening hand or in the first two turns because you will have information ahead of your opponent about what the new locations will be.
  • Scarlet Witch has an On Reveal effect that changes the location on the location you play her on. Very, VERY useful to alter entire matches in some situations, or at least to give you breathing space.
  • Rhino has an On Reveal effect that ruins a location.

While Uatu the Watcher is not a very good card to have in your deck, Scarlet Witch is almost a staple. Rhino… Not so much.
