All three types of Frox generally behave in the same ways, but have varying degrees of toughness, with the Blue-White Frox being the healthiest and toughest of the three. In total, there are roughly 40 Frox locations, and they can all be found in the Depths.

How to Beat Frox

A Frox is a essentially a frog-shaped cross between a Talus and a Hinox, and you can defeat a Frox in the same ways: shoot them in their large glowing eye and smash the ore deposits on their body.

The trick to beating a Frox is to get on its back and play rodeo long enough to smash all of the Frox’s ore deposits. To achieve this, you’ll want to stun the Frox by either shooting it in its eye or throwing a Bomb Flower into its mouth when it tries to inhale you.

Once on top of the Frox, smash away at its rock formations with a blunt weapon to break them and deal massive damage. Smashing all of the rocks will fully deplete the Frox’s health, leaving behind a few valuable materials for you to pick up.

Avoiding the Frox is the hardest part of the fight given its immense size and relentless charging and hopping. We recommend bringing plenty of meals with defense and attack buffs to keep your health topped off and wear armor that can provide high defense.

The easiest way to deal with the Frox is to run around, keeping your distance, until it opens its gaping maw to inhale you. While it’s trying to suck you in, throw a Bomb Flower to immediately stun it, giving you an opportunity for attack. The Frox will try to shake you off its back once it recovers, and if it does so, you’ll want to repeat the process until it’s dead.
