Usually when a numbered sports game comes out, it technically launches the year before by a few months. But WWE 2K22 is getting a slightly different treatment. Launching as part of the “Road to WresleMania” period, 2K’s new wrestling game outing is aimed for a March 2022 release window. This plan was announced with a new trailer, which you can check out below:
The trailer gives us a look at several wrestlers in action: Roman Reigns, Goldberg, Bayley, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, The Miz, Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rhea Ripley, Finn Bálor, Ricochet and Kane. We’ve also seen Rey Mysterio in previous, earlier footage as well as a couple of screenshots featuring Edge. This new commercial aired during Summerslam 2021, as was announced beforehand.

In a press release issued afterwards, 2K also announced that more information on WWE 2K22 will be part of a “full reveal” to take place in January 2022. That will likely be when we learn what the game’s systems and features will be like ahead of release. Wrestling fans are definitely intrigued by WWE 2K22, as it’s the first game without longtime developer Yukes behind the scenes, and it’s also coming after a year-long break for the WWE 2K series.
