If anyone has managed to rise up in the ranks of World Wrestling Entertainment over the last couple of years, it’s Daniel Bryan. First getting his start in the company’s NXT training division, Bryan has since become a headliner for Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. He’s battled a number of opponents over the years, including, most recently, John Cena and Randy Orton, where he gave one heck of an effort attempting to capture the WWE Championship.

We’ve got some answers to your questions about playing as Bryan, and, thankfully, none of them feature the response of “NO!”. Read on and enjoy.

How do I perform Daniel Bryan’s “Yes!” Lock?

This is one of the better submission moves of the game, as Bryan locks his hands around the face of his opponent, forcing a tap-out most of the time.

Once you’ve activated your signature/finisher by completing enough in a match, catch your opponent face down on the mat and step close to him. Once you do, hit the Y or triangle button, depending on which version you own, and he should put his opponent in the “Yes!” Lock.

From there, it’s up to you to keep the hold from being lost. You’ll need to tap the four face buttons on your control pad to keep momentum going, either making your opponent submit with a “Breaking Point” or losing it. It’s best to be away from the ropes when you do this.

How do I perform Daniel Bryan’s running knee?

This is sort of a prep move, as you have to set yourself and your opponent up for the move. Once your signature/finisher is ready and your foe is right in front of you, hit the Y or triangle button (again depending on version) and he’ll launch into a series of kicks. The final one will knock the opponent over, sending them to the ground.

With your finisher still intact, go to the other side of the ring and face your opponent as they start to get up. Once they’re in the right spot, hit the button and Bryan should launch into his running knee, finishing the match with ease.

What else can I do with Daniel Bryan?

A whole lot. Despite his small size, Bryan is a resilient wrestler with a lot of savvy. He can launch into jump kicks and quick shin kicks – perfect for setting up an alternate submission hold – and he can also do a back flip off the corner of the ropes, landing behind his opponent for a surprise attack. He can also do some great high-flying stuff, such as launching through the ropes into opponents waiting outside or flying off the top rope for an offensive attack.

Here’s some quick advice: if you’re going up against bigger, stronger wrestlers with Bryan, make sure you keep moving. The less power moves you’re caught in, the better you’ll fare in the match.

WWE 2K14 is available now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
