World of Warcraft Classic has become an instant hit once again following its initial release 15 years ago with its re-release this week. Unfortunately, the massive amount of interest from the video game community regarding the return of World of Warcraft Classic has resulted in insanely long queue times for players who are trying to get into one of the game’s already packed realms. However, Blizzard Entertainment announced on Wednesday, August 28th that it had taken measures to address the long queue time issues the community has been facing.
Blizzard took to the official World of Warcraft forums to announce that the maximum player capacity for each of the Classic realms had been increased. This increase means more players can now be logged in and playing in each of the World of Warcraft Classic realms. The developer expects this increase will cause shorter queue times for realms that have had significant queue times and no queue times for other realms.
“With hotfixes that we are currently deploying to all WoW Classic realms, we are substantially increasing the number of players that can be simultaneously logged in and playing. We expect this to result in smaller queues for realms that have large queues, and some realms should no longer have queues at all,” stated Blizzard. “We will closely monitor performance and stability throughout this process. Thank you very much.”
This significant change should hopefully allow a large number of players who have been having trouble getting into one of the World of Warcraft Classic realms a much better chance of being able to play the title that is currently sweeping the video game world once again.
