Windows 8 will be coming late this October, says Microsoft.
Tami Reller, corporate vice prez over at the technology giant, announced the news at Microsoft’s worldwide partner conference in Toronto (thanks ZD Net).
Physical copies of Windows 8 will begin to be manufactured on the first week of August, which coincides with business users’ early access to the final version.
The dates match up with the Windows team’s Twitter account @BuildWindows8, which said they expected the company would enter its “final phases” of the release-to-manufacturing process in “about two months.”
Microsoft made an announcement in June on the RT version of its Surface tablet device, revealing that it would be out on the same day as Windows 8. The deluxe edition, known as the Windows 8 Pro model is expected to released around 90 days after the RT.
