When we first went hands on with the Wii U controller a bit earlier this year, we were impressed by the tech that went into the piece, though the use of an analog nub in favor of a stick left us a slight bit unimpressed. However, it looks like Nintendo may have recently made changes to improve its performance.
A picture posted by a QA tester over at TT Games, which has since been removed, shows a new Wii U test unit with the same rough build as the original controller, mind a couple of new standouts – controller sticks that sit on the top corners of the screen, right above the D-pad and buttons. Some extra buttons have been added as well, possibly to improve performance for the unit.
We’ll find out in a couple of weeks if this is indeed the final build of the Wii U, but, yeah, in this day and age, when we can use analog sticks we’ll take them!
