With still no official sign of an official release date or price for the upcoming Wii U console, Nintendo is facing a lot of scrutiny and doubt at the moment. But according to a recent interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, CEO Satoru Iwata explains that there is nothing to really worry about as far as the system’s pricing.
Said Iwata, “We won’t make the same mistake that we did with the 3DS, which was considered relatively high by consumers.” With that, the Wii U will be priced “considerably”, though he still didn’t give a specific number.
Iwata also isn’t that worried when it comes to the Wii U turning a profit, as the 3DS has managed to do since Nintendo turned it around following its faulted launch release. “We’ve fixed the 3DS profitability issue, and pledge to turn profitable by the end of this fiscal year.”
When we hear more about actual pricing and what exactly Nintendo’s plan is, you’ll know immediately!
