Now that we know when the Xbox Series X and S is launching, more and more studios are opening up about when their games are launching this holiday season. After confirming an early release for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft also confirmed when players can get their hands on Watch Dogs Legion. 

Watch Dogs Legion is set to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia and on PC this October 29th, with a next-gen upgrade for Xbox Series X/S on November 10th. The next-gen upgrade is completely free to take advantage of as well for those that want to go ahead and buy this October.

We recently had a chance to get our hands on the new Watch Dogs experience, which you can read all about here with our previous coverage. As someone that wasn’t the biggest fan of the first two, don’t judge, I was oddly addicted to the third installment. There is more freedom than ever before with Legion, and having so many playable characters made it a chaotic experience in the best way possible.

As mentioned in our previous coverage, “Where the first game tasked players with becoming one character, Legion challenges players to become literally anyone. There were so many recruitable NPCs that I met as passersby during my open-world perusing, all with their own skills, their own voice lines, and their own (wildly different) personalities. This right here is a core design of the third game and this move takes the series in a massively different direction that inspires limitless playthroughs and outcomes.”

Ubisoft has been making major moves in recent years with taking new creative directions with big IPs such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and now Watch Dogs. It’s exciting to see so much newness introduced into the franchises we love, while still keeping the core mechanics present so it still feels familiar.
