Tchia has officially launched on March 21, 2023 for PC, PS4, and PS5. The whimsical, New Caledonian-inspired indie adventure from the Montreal-based developer Awaceb allows players to “climb, glide, swim, and sail around a beautiful archipelago,” and features a unique “soul jumping” gameplay mechanic, as well as a playable Ukulele that gives gamers the ability to pluck some tunes under the sun. With the arrival of Tchia also comes the first critic scores for the newly released open world adventure title. Let’s take a look at Tchia’s Metacritic score to see how professional reviewers received this promising new indie game.
Tchia Metascore Unveiled
According to Metacritic, Tchia received a 77 Metascore on PC and a 79 on PS5. There is currently no Metascore for the game’s PS4 version. The 79 rating places Tchia at 115th all-time in the history of the PlayStation 5 and ranks the new indie title as the 19th best game on the console in 2023 so far. Although Tchia did not earn critical acclaim based on Metacritic’s aggregation of critic reviews, its score and rankings are certainly respectable and commendable, particularly for Awaceb’s twelve-person studio.
