Store Bug Allows Players to Use any Weapon Blueprint in COD MW2 Ranked Play

No COD Points needed.

Store bugs are nothing new in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and private matches were even placed on a backburner near the launch of the game to stop players from abusing free cosmetics. With the Season 2 Reloaded update, it seems like something similar has happened once again.

While this bug may not be as universal or immediate as the one we saw in 2022, it’s still an exploit that allows players to utilize weapon blueprints that they didn’t have to pay for. We won’t go into how to replicate the bug itself, but we’ll cover what it does and when it may be fixed.

Is the Store Bug Still in COD MW2?

The latest store bug came about because of the new features for all weapon cosmetic searching in the game. In Season 2 Reloaded, players can scroll over a weapon in the loadout section and tap a button to see all of the available blueprints. This new feature allowed players to use any blueprint they wanted within Ranked Play.

At the time of this writing, the store bug has been patched within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It wasn’t an issue for anyone that was playing Warzone 2 or standard Multiplayer, but now the exploit has been removed from Ranked Play as well. But one part of the bug still remains after the Ranked update that went live on March 22.

Any of the loadouts that you saved when utilizing the store bug in MW2 should remain within your class. That means you can continue using them, however, you should refrain from removing them. You’ll most likely go back to the default version of the weapon when you equip it once again.
