Star Wars: The Old Republic Going Free-To-Play Starting Next Week

Star Wars: The Old Republic has gathered a pretty good crowd for the folks at BioWare, with millions of players logging in to wipe out good and evil enemies alike.  But now the audience is definitely about to pick up in numbers…

The company has announced that the game will shift to a free-to-play status starting November 15th, allowing you to level up all the way to level 50 without paying a cent.

But let’s say you did previously put money down on the game – are you out of luck?  Hardly.  All paying members of the game will get the complimentary Cartel coins for use in the microtransaction shop, depending what they paid and playing time.  A lump sum of 250 coins will also be dropped in your account, and lapsed players will also be affected, provided they join in before December 20, 2012.
