Square Enix Manga & Books, the twitter feed for exactly those things, dropped several announcements this morning for upcoming publications. While the titles include a new Final Fantasy VII Remake novel and NieR Automata manga series, the arguably biggest news is a reprint of a Final Fantasy XIV novel.

The reprinted novel is called Final Fantasy XIV: Chronicles of Light. It’s an anthology of short stories set around the Final Fantasy XIV world, featuring characters all the way up to Shadowbringers. Originally printed in 2019, this book has been very difficult to get ahold of in English. The reprint is scheduled for October 18 2022, at $24.99 for a hardcover copy.
A new novel written by Kazushige Nojima is next on the list. The book is Final Fantasy VII Remake: Traces of Two Pasts. In this story, Aerith and Tifa are swapping stories of their lives as they get to know each other. Nojima has long been a writer for Final Fantasy VII, and has penned multiple novels in the past. Traces of Two paths is a November 8 release, also tagged at $24.99.
The NieR: Automata manga has a pretty incredible title. Yorha – Pearl Harbor Descent Record – a NieR: Automata story (written and illustrated by Megumu Soramichi) looks like a new version of Automata’s background, the origin of the Yorha androids. Other NieR: Automata publications have explored this territory as well, so it’ll be interesting to see it expanded on in manga form. The first volume is slated for December 13, for $12.99.
It’s important to note that those prices reflect the physical options (no paperback for the novels), but digital versions are also available at lower prices. Square Enix also announced new art books and other manga series, which may be worth checking out as well if you’re interested here.
