Marvel’s Spider-Man was the latest hit to come from Insomniac Games and with Sony’s recent announcement that they’ve acquired the studio, fans have been going wild over the good news. While the studio has previously flirted with Xbox exclusives, namely that of Sunset Overdrive, their real strengths seem to have been their PlayStation properties, including their Spider-man PS4 game that quickly set records for highest-grossing Marvel title.
The news went live during Gamescom 2019 and immediately, fans reacted. For once, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive, filled with fans and industry professionals alike offering their congratulations for the big move:
Enormous congrats to everyone at @insomniacgames for officially becoming part of the @PlayStation family! And, frankly, an even bigger congrats to @PlayStation themselves for acquiring such an incredible studio, with a back catalog of so many incredible games.
