Silent Hill Art Director Teases His New Game

Silent Hill seems to be dead in the water, but that doesn't mean the creative genius behind the horror series is remaining stagnant.

While it may be too much to hope for a new Silent Hill game, that doesn’t mean that one of the creative geniuses behind the franchise is remaining stagnant. While not a continuation of the franchise we know and love, Silent Hill art director Masahiro Ito just teased his very Hills-esque new game in a series of tweets.

The first tweet was hope for his vision to remain untouched by the cancellation curse but it was his second tweet that gave us our first look at what Ito-san is currently working on:

While we don’t know specifics yet, we could stare at this art all day trying to extrapolate what his new vision will be and what the game will have to offer fans. The best part is that he’s a freelance dev, meaning he’s not tied just to Konami, which means his creative freedom is boundless.

All you have to do is take one second to look at Ito-san’s profile to see that Silent Hill is one of his crowning achievements, one that he’s proud of, so we’re hoping that spirit can live on in whatever new adventure he is working on. While we have no news about a publisher, a developer, or even how far along this new concept is, it is exciting to see that something is in the works from a highly respected art designer in this industry.

Thoughts on the concept art shared above? Any subtleties that you think point to a much bigger picture? Hit us with your speculations over on Twitter @PrimaGames, we’d love to hear what you guys come up with!
