During The Game Awards last week, we got our first look at the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance revival on the way but it looks like the Wizards team isn’t stopping there.
It’s no secret that the king of TableTop is at an all-time high right now in terms of popularity in both mainstream media and in terms of game support. It’s because of that dedicated love, and the long track record thus far of D&D-inspired games, that the time to strick while the iron is hot is now.
Wizards of the West Coast President Chris Cocks recently confirmed to GameIndustry.biz that Baldur’s Gate 3 and D&D Dark Alliance are just the tip of the iceberg, saying that fans can expect at least “seven or eight” new games under this umbrella. He added, “And we’re going to do it in a variety of genres… And in future games we will explore different areas, whether it’s grand strategy and combat at army level scale, to really intimate character portrayal.”
With games like Dark Alliance and Baldur’s Gate having such lasting power for more than a decade and other titles like Pillars of Eternity and Divinity Original Sin also offering a fresh D&D take, it’s exciting for fans of the TableTop adventure to take that love even further. This also makes it the perfect chance for newcomers interested in the world of TableTop to dive even further!
