Resident Evil 3 is back after numerous leaks, rumors, and ambitious fan-petitions. Now Capcom has showed off their latest play on nostalgia during this month’s State of Play and even better? It comes with Project Resistance. Both horror adventures are coming sooner than we thought, arriving on April 3, 2020.
When Capcom first revealed their latest entry into the Resident Evil-verse, nobody was expecting a Left 4 Dead-esque game with Mr X ready to give it to ya as seen in Project Resistance. This escape room adventure truly is like if Left 4 Dead and Dead by Daylight got drunk in a bar and Project Resistance was its love child with Mr X as the weird creepy uncle that nobody wants to acknowledge. And you know what? We’re 100% here for it. Even better than that, 2019’s final PlayStation State of Play showed off our first real look at the single-player campaign that will also be offered.
Resident Evil 3 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC beginning April 3rd, 2020! Return to Raccoon City as Jill Valentine escapes an unstoppable pursuer in this re-imagining of the survival horror classic.

For those that may have missed the initial announcement, the setting of Project Resistance sees four survivors that must work together in order to live through the night. From zombies wanting to tear them limb from limb, to traps ready to make you feel like the biggest idiot in the world, this puzzle-driven co-op experience was way more than I was originally anticipating. That being said, that doesn’t mean that Capcom is abandoning their talent for crafting a solid horror tale, which is exactly what we see with the trailer seen above.
With Resident Evil 3: Nemesis being such a beloved entry into the franchise and seeing all of the work Capcom has done to bring Resident Evil 2 into this generation, we’re excited to see what’s next down this path of nostalgia.
