Having thoroughly explored the mine and caught up with Lucas, it’s time to finally bring his little game to an end. In the final part of our Resident Evil 7: Not a Hero walkthrough we’ll show you how to defeat the mutated Lucas boss, which is one of the more difficult bosses we’ve seen in Resident Evil 7. Lucas Boss Fight

Having saved your game, head forward after Lucas into a massive room with a computer console in the middle. This will trigger a cutscene that sees Lucas mutate into a massive molded enemy—much like the rest of his family did in the main game. This triggers the DLC’s final boss fight, and you’ll need to be on your toes if you want to survive.

The real trick to surviving this boss fight is to kite the enemy as much as possible. Keep him far enough away, but not too far away, or he’ll react accordingly. You’ll also want to make sure you grab any ammunition around the room before the fight kicks off, as it may become more difficult to grab it once things get intense.

Also, be sure to take note of the two oxygen machines on the far wall of the area. You’ll need this for the second phase of the fight, which will trigger once you’ve damaged Lucas’ head enough.

During the first phase of the fight, focus your attention on Lucas’ head, which will glow red as he tries to kill you. Put as much ammunition into the head as you can, as this is the only spot that you can damage him in. Don’t worry about using anti-regen rounds, as they are important for this fight, so just make use of your normal pistol ammo, or pull out your shotgun and lay some rounds into his face.

After a certain amount of time—and after you’ve done enough damage to his head—Lucas will jump onto the middle console and the second phase of the battle will begin. The air will fill with spores, and your High-Grade Filter will suddenly stop working, forcing you to worry about oxygen. This is where the tanks we mentioned earlier come into play, so keep an eye on them to see when they are recharged and ready to refill your oxygen.

You can usually make it down to around 30% oxygen before you need to refill, so try to work things out and wait that long, that way you don’t have to worry about the recharge timer causing you any issues as the fight progresses.

During the second phase of the battle, Lucas’ weak spot changes to his chest, and you’ll want to focus your fire on there. He also starts to guard it with his arm, though, so try not to waste your ammo when he’s shielding it. Continue kiting him around the room, trying to keep him close but not too close, and lay into him until you finally put him down and the fight comes to an end.
