PlayStation Studios’ reveal comes with the below swanky new animation that will be used for promotional purposes for Sony’s exclusive games lineup. The new PlayStation Studios logo will also appear on exclusive art work and box art as well for all games that were produced by them as well as fall under their direct network.

Immediately upon its release, fans couldn’t help but to note how similar the sequence appears to the Marvel films, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! The above animation is definitely hype-worthy and showcases powerful franchises from Sony’s history including Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and even The Last of Us.

As Microsoft renews its interest once more in first-party exclusives after a long hiatus, Sony has also been hard at work making their own moves. After taking a year off from the major event circuit, the PlayStations Studios is just one of the many surprises ahead in terms of what Sony fans can expect from the company in terms of their gaming experience.

“We think this is a good way to let consumers know that, if they see it, then the quality games they’ve come to expect from us are here,” said Eric Lempel, Sony’s head of global marketing in a recent interview with GameIndustry.biz. “And this brand will exist for well-known existing franchises, as well as brand new franchises that we have yet to explore.”

While this animation will be a huge presentation for games to come, Sony has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II won’t have this as part of their intros, but it will be interesting to see how this brand grows in the coming years, especially with both Microsoft and Nintendo upping their own game when it comes to the gaming market.
