3.3 million PS5’s were sold during the quarter, bringing the console’s lifetime sales up to 13.4 million in just one year. The PS5 continues to seel like a powerhouse and this quarter had 1 million more PS5 sales than the previous quarter.

Overall the company is up 27% year-over-year when it comes to the gaming division. PlayStation accounts for 27% of Sony’s total revenue across the company, and it seems to only keep growing larger and larger as time goes on.

Of course, we also saw multiple acquisition announcements this quarter from the PlayStation division. PlayStation picked up the developer of Returnal, Housemarque, the pc-port company Nixxes, and most recently the studio behind the Demon’s Souls Remake, Bluepoint Studios.

All of this information comes from the Public financial results that can be found here.

It’s no surprise the PlayStation 5 and gaming network is doing incredibly well. What do you think though? Be sure to let us know on the official Prima Games Twitter and Facebook pages, or leave a comment down below.
