There are a few new features that are exclusive to this new Switch version of Pikmin 3. The game now has a camera feature that allows you to take pictures of your adorable little Pikmin lounging around or doing a task.

The Piklopedia allows players to see information on any enemy they have encountered on their journey. Each of the five different explorers will comment on the enemy, so it’s a fun little menu to add context to the creatures you find around the game.

For the first time, Pikmin 3 Deluxe allows for a splitscreen co-op play through the story mode. Simply hit the button in the pause menu to let a friend join in on the fun. Players can act independently of each other and complete tasks as they see fit.

There is also a brand-new mode in Pikmin 3 Deluxe called side stories. This mode has players trying to collect as much treasure as they can under a time restraint. Olimar, the protagonist of Pikmin 1 and 2, takes center stage in this mode as he tries to pay back the enormous debt he has accrued.

Managing your Pikmin and taking note of what to collect along the way for the most efficient route is the best way to get as much treasure in this mode as possible.

The final mode shown off in the Treehouse was called Bingo Battle. This is a 1v1 mode where you must collect items on a bingo card. The first to get all of the items in a row will get bingo and win the match. It’s a fun way to mix things up.

We saw red, blue, yellow, and rock Pikmin in the gameplay demonstration, but there is plenty more to still discover.
