With everyone hot under the collar for Persona 5 Royal, it’s no wonder that the corporate powers that be are wanting to capitalize on the series’ revitalized popularity. Those based in Japan (or those who have been watching sneaky video rips) may be pleased to know that the Persona 5 stage play returns in October 2020 in Japan. Yes, we’re talking yet another run of the acclaimed adaptation, and we’re pretty stoked for it.

Persona 5’s stage play, named Persona 5 the Stage, exploded in Tokyo and Osaka in December, with a script helmed by the same mind behind the Boku no Hero Academia stage adaptation. With Persona 5 coming into its third year since release, it’s pretty impressive that Royal has managed to generate this much buzz around it – enough to justify a second run of the stage play, at least. Check out the announcement trailer below!

Persona 5 Royal is going to hit the West on March 31 2020, which means that we’re just about two or so months out. It’s been out in Japan since October 2019, which means that this new run of the Persona 5 stage play starting almost a year after the title’s first release is likely not a coincidence. The fact that the Persona 5 stage play returns in October 2020 is just one of the few things up Atlus’ sleeve this year with its lethally popular franchise: fans can also look forward to Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, which will be a departure from the series’ usual genre takes. We’re pretty keen to see how that ends up.

Are you excited for the Persona 5 stage play to come back in October this year? We’re pretty stoked, and especially so for Royal to make its way to our shores.
