Nintendo first revealed Paper Mario: The Origami King back in May and our first look at the adorable comeback looked beyond incredible and even included a small Metroid teaser at the end. Our first look at the upcoming experience gave fans a lot to look forward to, including a new journey against the malicious King Oll and now a new video is showing off even more companions and new details about the game.
The latest Paper Mario: The Origami King trailer is about 6 minutes long and shows off more about the tumultuous Mushroom Kingdom and what sort of characters players will meet along the way. After King Olly seizes Princess Peach’s castle, the entire world that Mario knows and loves is thrown into utter chaos and it’s up to him to save the day, but he doesn’t have to do it alone.
Mario will sync up with Olly’s sister Olivia to defeat his army of enemies in order to save Peach and society as we know it. The latest video also goes into more detail about Mario’s partner and the adorable Bobby, a Bob-omb that is missing his fuse but makes up for it with his adorable drive to help. Professor Toad also makes his comeback as well, with plenty of other staple characters making their return as well. Check out the latest video below to see it all in action:
Previously, Nintendo confirmed that The Origami King would have a heavy focus on puzzles as part of its combat experience, something that is very prevalent in the above video. From spinning puzzles to build-em-up experiences, there are many ways that Mario can take to defeating his foes in an effort to get stronger and inevitably save the day. There will also be a ton of hidden mini-quests littered throughout the game as well, including hidden toads for players to hunt down and collect for higher-tiered rewards in-game.
For those interested in defeating the Big Bad, the above video also highlights fighting against the Legion of Stationary which will make you never look at office supplies the same way ever again.
