New Game Plus Coming to Dead Island 2 with Patch 6

The gift that keeps on giving!

Dead Island 2 was originally released back in 2023 on consoles and PC and finally made its way to Steam earlier this year. Despite being a single-player title with co-op support, Dead Island 2 has been getting a series of updates since its launch, which have added new content, features, and quality-of-life additions. Now, Dead Island 2 is finally getting a new game plus and horde mode with patch 6.

Dead Island 2 Patch 6 Adds New Game Plus and Horde Mode

Patch 6 is a major update for Dead Island 2, and it’s completely free for all platforms including PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and PS5. It’s officially coming out on October 22, 2024, and includes tons of new content and features.

The developers have confirmed that the New Game Plus mode will allow players to dive back into the campaign with all their characters, weapons, and an additional skill slot, as well as an increased level cap. The New Game Plus mode will also add new skins, weapons, increased difficulty, and new enemy types as well.

Additionally, there’s a brand new horde mode being added to Dead Island 2 called Neighborhood Watch which will put players into the shoes of Bobcats who have to clear out their neighborhood and protect their frat house from zombie swarms. This mode comes with new weapons, skins, a fresh location, and brand-new game mechanics like setting up traps, stockpiling weaponry, and new abilities during each run.

There is even more planned for Patch 6, but the above-mentioned additions are the highlights. We’ll likely see more bug fixes, performance improvements, and a few more quality-of-life features.

Dead Island 2 already has tons of great legendary weapons to collect, and we can’t wait to see what else they add in the new patch.
