It has been five years since fans were treated to a Batman experience in the Arkham series from WB Games Montreal. While there has been a VR title and mobile game released since then, fans are always looking to what could be on the horizon. Luckily, it looks like we don’t have to wait too much longer because it appears that a reveal is happening during DC FanDome.
DC recently released the full schedule for the upcoming virtual event, which also unveiled the full name for the upcoming Suicide Squad game. More on that here. However, they also revealed that earlier in the day, at 10:30am PT, Warner Bros. Games Montreal will be making an announcement. “Gamers,” the description proclaims. “You won’t want to miss this first look at an exciting new game, and Q&A with its developers.” For those not in the know, WB Games Montreal is known for their work on the Batman Arkham games, which leads us to believe a new game featuring the caped crusader is inbound.
It was reported back in March that a new Batman game was set to make its debut at this year’s E3, but with the ongoing pandemic, that obviously did not happen. However, hope was restored once more when DC revealed their own digital event, and now that we know WB Games Montreal will be part of the festivities, there’s even more of a chance that we’ll be seeing a new Batman game. Of course, now we just have to wait and see what exactly that means. Are previous leaks and teases true? Are we getting a Court of Owls experience? Is it going to be an entirely different kind of adventure that takes place from the perspective of Batman’s allies? We will hopefully be finding out more on August 22nd.

That now makes two DC-based video games that will be shown off during DC FanDome, the other being Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. As stated above, the WB Montreal panel is set for 10:30am PT on Saturday, August 22nd, while the Suicide Squad panel will take place later that day at 5pm PT.
