First the news that a Fallout TV show is on the way, now another game is getting the adaptation treatment. My Friend Pedro is the latest gaming adventure to get its own TV series and out of all of the possible video games to choose from, this wasn’t even in our realm of possibility.
The news comes by way of THR with John Wick creator Derek Kolstad at the helm to write and produce this R-rated take on My Friend Pedro. The collaboration for the upcoming series is between Legendary Television, 87North Productions, and DJ2 Entertainment, and the entire team promises that this will be a drama and comedy story that will be remembered for ages to come.
DJ2 Entertainment was the company responsible for producing the latest Sonic the Hedgehog adaptation with Jim Carrey and 87NOrth’s David Leitch has credits as a co-director for John Wick. Devolver Digital’s co-founder, Mike Wilson, is also on board for retelling the tale of a criminal underworld shooketh by none other than a banana by the name of Pedro. Totally normal, nothing to see here. Move along.
As for the game, Devolver describes this particular adventure as “a violent ballet about friendship, imagination, and one man’s struggle to obliterate anyone in his path at the behest of a sentient banana. The strategic use of split aiming, slow motion, and the ol’ stylish window breach create one sensational action sequence after another in an explosive battle through the violent underworld.”

There’s total destruction as a banana, which is always a plus, and even fast-paced motorcycle chases too. It’s the dream game we didn’t know we needed until it came out back in 2019 and since then, we’ve had no regrets losing ourselves in this weird journey.
