Ahead of CoD Next 2023, the first official Multiplayer trailer was released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and for a brief moment, we got to see the Karambit Knife in action. The melee weapon has its own inspect animation that displays the classic flashy look of the curved blade, and it was shown off on the remastered version of Invasion for MW3.

Why is this significant? Well, this is the first time a Karambit Knife has been featured in a mainline entry for Call of Duty as a standalone weapon. In the past, the Karambit has only been used as a small snippet in campaign missions, as Operator finishing moves, or as an unlock for titles that are released on the side.

The only two Call of Duty titles with a Karambit Knife in Multiplayer are COD Mobile and Modern Warfare Remastered. Otherwise, twirling one around your fingers in a Multiplayer match has never been an option. With so many weapons on the way in Modern Warfare 3, this was the perfect chance to add the rare knife.

Of course, most FPS players will likely associate the Karambit Knife with Counter-Strike. In Modern Warfare 3, there will likely be a base version of the knife that can have camos equipped, but nothing too flashy. Since Modern Warfare 2 (2022) was released, only a handful of unique knives with a premium cost have been released.

Much like Counter-Strike, though, most players will likely use the Karambit Knife to move fast in Search and Destroy. Expect this in nearly every Modern Warfare 3 player’s hands at the start of each round. And if you’re lucky, you can even test out the execution it has.

In the meantime, check out the full list of maps headed to Modern Warfare 3 ahead of the full release.
