Injustice: Gods Among Us’ downloadable content has been quite impressive, between the addition of gun-slinging Lobo and the agile Batgirl.  Today, the roster received a major shake-up with the inclusion of a character from Netherrealm Studios’ other fighting series, Mortal Kombat.

Scorpion, the spear-throwing masked ninja, is the latest to join the Injustice party, and will be released soon for Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.  He’ll set you back $4.99 or free of charge if you subscribe to the Injustice season pass.

Scorpion’s character has been specifically redesigned by DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, and as you can see in the character’s reveal trailer, it’s quite effective, especially when he smacks around zombie Superman.

No release date yet, but Scorpion is expected to arrive sometime this June.  Will Sub-Zero follow?  After all, the two combatants have been known for epic fights.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.
