Monopoly GO Fans Plead With Scopley To Implement Safer Trading To Avoid Getting Scammed

Don't trade away your most valuable cards without knowing what you're getting back first.

If you’ve been playing Monopoly GO, you know how time-absorbing the game can be. Finding ways to get just a few more dice could be the bane of your existence, but you see a small sliver of hope; trading cards. Yes, by trading cards with other players and community members, you can unlock more dice rolls, but there’s a catch – when you start trading, you can’t see what other players are sending your way, leading to unsavory characters ruining the fun for everyone.

Players have banded together on the Monopoly GO subreddit to express their dissatisfaction with the current trading system, hoping that developer Scopley will do something in the future to help players from losing out on countless hours of collecting, due to a nasty trading partner.

It may not sound too serious if you’re out of the loop, but getting cards is a completely randomized affair so you never know what you’re going to get. Searching for that final card to complete a set can take hours, if not days to do, so losing out on the opportunity to get it because someone sent you a completely different set of cards than you agreed on can put a damper on your day.

Revamping the trade options could be huge for Scopley, as it would allow players to get more in-depth in their game and showcase what they can offer. A system where both players would have to agree to the trade could bring a lot of new players to the game, as the current system is a 50/50 shot of finding someone who is going to pull the rug out from under your feet.

I know I would love the option to see what I’m getting in a trade, which is why I only currently trade cards with my wife. There are dedicated Discord servers and forums set up for players to trade cards, but I’m not about to send off my “Show The Way” from the Hua Mulan set only to get “Little God” from Adventures of Thor in exchange from someone I don’t know. So for now, I’ll keep it up close and personal until Scopely decides to change its trading methods to something a bit more modern and trustworthy.
