Both Microsoft and Sony have been toe-to-toe when it comes to their special edition controllers for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and while many are still drooling over the previously released Phantom White controller when it was first revealed last year, Microsoft has upped their game with a beautiful magenta version that is downright stunning.

The specs are the same, this isn’t an Elite controller, and it’s coming soon on March 17th! According to Microsoft’s store listing:

“Equip yourself with the Xbox Wireless Controller – Phantom Magenta Special Edition, featuring a translucent design that fades to dark pink, and textured grip for enhanced comfort. Enjoy custom button mapping and plug in any compatible headset with the 3.5mm stereo headset jack. And with Bluetooth® technology, play your favorite games on Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and mobile devices.”

The translucent pink/purple design has the same ombre effect that made us fall in love with the Phantom White controller, but in an entirely different color. Considering how their previous purple ombres did on the market, and the love the translucent line gets, it’s not surprising that the two reiterations should eventually meet and with this being my personal favorite color? Yeah, I’ll take ten.

They’re available now to pre-order through here with a release date set for March 17th! What do you think about the latest transparent Xbox One controller, yay or nay? Hit us up with your thoughts over on @PrimaGames on Twitter!
