Metal Slug Tactics Headed to PC and Consoles in Fall 2024

It's alive!

Metal Slug Tactics, the turn-based tactical spin-off from Dotemu and Leikir Studio was originally unveiled in 2021, and despite an excellent reveal, there hasn’t been much news until today. The developers have confirmed with a new trailer that the long-awaited spinoff is coming to PC and consoles in Fall 2024.

While originally announced for just PC and Switch, the new trailer confirms that Metal Slug Tactics is also coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and the PS5. While an exact date hasn’t been revealed yet, we’re glad it’s finally confirmed that the title is slated for this year.

In addition to the release window announcement, the developers have confirmed that PC players will get a taste of the upcoming title with a demo which will be available as part of the Steam Next Fest 2024 starting from June 10, 2024, till June 17, 2024.

According to the Steam page, there will be over 110 hand-crafted maps, 9 iconic characters from the series, and 20 different mission types in the full release, and the game will follow rogue-lite progression to ensure high replayability.

The game also features a soundtrack by Tee Lopes who previously worked on Streets of Rage 4, Sonic Mania, and the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which is also published by Dotemu.

Metal Slug Tactics isn’t the only title headed to Steam Next Fest, but Blade Chimera from Team Ladybug will also be available to try out. We’re excited to see more from the release and see what Leiker Studio has been working on for the past few years.
