Rumors have been building over the weekend that Konami was planning some kind of special limited edition collection of Metal Gear Solid games, something that fans would no doubt eat up. Grab your napkins kids, because it’s happening.
Konami has officially confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be coming this June for the PlayStation 3. The collection includes the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (with the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 included), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition, all in one place. You’ll also have access to two digital graphic novels by Ashley Wood.
“We wanted to give Metal Gear Solid fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console,” said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment. “With the collection’s multiple titles, players can truly see how Metal Gear Solid evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.”
We’ll have more information on this special package soon.
