A Vikings setting for the next Assassin’s Creed game first became a very probable next step when The Division 2 players uncovered several in-game Easter eggs regarding the brotherhood. Though Ubisoft was quiet about all of the ramped up speculation, a new leak has emerged with quite a few alleged details about what’s next.
In the embedded (scroll right) post seen here, several leaked images have been unveiled to show off what the rumored next game will have to offer, including a few key details from a post that originated of 4Chan, but was later ‘verified’ through ResetEra.
According to the leak, the next Assassin’s Creed game is codenamed Kingdom, though the actual name alleges to be Ragnarok. According to the report, the main character is an “ally of Ragnar Lodbrok and aids in the formation of the Great Heathen Army.” It also alleges that the map is expansive, branching off into numerous kingdoms that includes Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and more.
Settlements will allegedly be customizable, with “large scale conquests” seeing a comeback. The leak also says that the player will become an assassin, unlike the previous two entries, and will have a hidden play during the base game.
Also allegedly attached to this project is Creative Director Ashraf, with Darby McDevvit as the narrative director. Co-op, RPG mechanics (like Odyssey), and more is also supposedly on the way. You can check out the full list of alleged features right here, though be cautious with that excitement. As with all leaks, take them with a grain of salt until Ubisoft themselves announces what’s next. Hopefully, and the leak encourages this hope, we’ll be seeing an official reveal during E3 this year.
