Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Fans Are Preparing Themselves For Venom’s… Size

Excuse me, WHAT?

It seems a massive file size isn’t the only thing that Spider-Man 2 is packing. Revealed today by the OFFICAL PLAYSTATION UK ACCOUNT, not a fan account, the real deal, it seems that Venom is… beyond our expectations. While we’ve always loved playing as the giant symbiote in the games he’s been available in, it seems that he may be a little more than we can handle now.

Thanks to a particular bit of phrasing, either purposefully or unintentionally, fans are having a field day with this new smattering of information from the folks at PlayStation UK. As to be expected, fans are having an absolute field day with this bit of advertising, especially since they’re shocked to hear about… 19-inches of Venom.

The responses are an absolute hellscape of memes, reactions, and surprisingly thirsty individuals who can’t wait to get their hands on this collector’s edition. If there’s a way to drum up interest in a new product, I can hardly think of any recent examples that have gained as much traction as this.

And is it a truly successful attempt if other brands don’t get in on the fun? While the Opera GX channel is already known for being rather devious in what they post, this example is taking it to a whole new level. What level of late-stage capitalist Hell do we live in when brands are ready to throw one another under the bus in an attempt for clout? I’m not sure, but I honestly kind of love it.

Will this possibly intentional gaff cause pre-orders of the collector’s edition to rise? It’s hard to say, but it’s caught the attention of the fun side of Twitter and there is bound to be some sort of a chain reaction that gives the company more sales. Let’s just hope you’re prepared for everything it has to offer you, as this has been one of the most unintentionally hilarious marketing goofs in quite some time.
