A handful of new Wii U projects were announced today during Nintendo’s recent Direct special, but along with what we already know is on the way, Nintendo has even more stuff coming in just a few months’ time.
Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo of Japan, confirmed that the company would have a hell of a showcase this summer at the E3 2013 event in Los Angeles, confirming that not only would they be bringing their new Super Smash Bros. game for the system (the one they’re making in collaboration with Namco Bandai), but also two more that are destined to be fan favorites – a whole new Mario Kart game, and a 3D Mario adventure.
Iwata-san stopped just short of stating just what the 3D Mario game is – a new Galaxy title, a sequel to Super Mario 3D Land, or maybe just something else entirely – but color us intrigued. We’ll have some speculation on what this new game is in the weeks ahead, so be sure to check back.
Leave it to Nintendo to make E3 interesting again. This year’s press conference won’t be bland, that’s for sure.
