Dreams is a magical game that lets players create basically anything they want … as long as it isn’t Nintendo. Dreams players have recreated Silent Hills, God of War, Tomb Raider, and so much more. The possibilities are limitless but Nintendo has never been one to shy away from issuing strikes when it comes to their properties and it’s because of that caution that it’s no surprise that one player’s Super Mario nod wound up in the trash.
The latest impressive creation in Dreams comes by way of Twitter user ‘Piece_of_Craft’ but they recently took to their profile to share that their latest project has been kaput thanks to the folks over at Nintendo.
Good news and bad news
We flew too close to the sun boys! A big video game company who i will keep nameless obviously didn’t read my “be cool” note in dreams
no worries though have a back up plan. But for now Mario projects in dreams are on hold until i put said plan into effect pic.twitter.com/ifGDM0jFZ3— Piece of Craft (@Piece_of_Craft) March 20, 2020
When they created the character model within Dreams, the creator posted about Nintendo not liking the property adaptation, which prompted Sony of Europe to lock down edits on this model entirely. As of today, the model has been completely taken down, making it unreachable for other Dreams players.
While no Mario, players can still create the world of their dreams because Dreams is available no on PlayStation 4. For more about the game itself:
“The latest evolution of the studio’s Play, Create, Share experience; Dreams also gives you the opportunity to unleash your creativity, building, sharing and bringing your own ideas — or Dreams — to life in the online Dreamiverse platform, all with the easy-to-use, innovative tools Dreams was created with.
From games to gadgets, music to movies, puzzles to paintings and literally anything in-between … this is a beautiful playground of creativity where everything is possible.”
Playrs can create, explore, and have an incredible sense of community all in one! It truly is an incredible journey that we can’t wait to fully have in our hands when it releases fully on PlayStation 4 sometime later this year.
