John Madden’s football franchise has been running for some time, getting its start way back on the Sega Genesis and progressing nicely throughout the years with a number of new features and online components. And now, as the series nears its 25th anniversary (yes, it’s been around for that long), EA Sports is ready to celebrate, bigger than ever.
The company has announced a release date for its latest football affair, Madden NFL 14, and it’s set to hit stores on August 27th. Although specific game platforms haven’t been revealed as of yet, the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U are definitely expected, along with handhelds.
No new features have been announced for the game just yet, but according to the official Madden site, it could be going under the name Madden 25…which would confuse us since it’s not 2024 just yet.
With the reveal happening this week, EA Sports could be cooking up something big for the Super Bowl, which takes place this Sunday. We’ll just have to wait and see what will happen.
