The presentation started with a few iOS related games, including MLB Dream, before leading into the first big console reveal – PES 2014.  The developers explained that a new engine was created for the title with a higher quality than previous soccer games.  The six new elements include TrueBall Tech, M.A.S.S. (Motion Animation Stability System), PES ID, Team Play, Heart and The Core.  A new trailer finished the first look presentation, filled with plenty of dramatic images and realistic-looking players.

From there, Hideo Kojima talked about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.  Explaining that it’s the most in-depth MGS game to date, the adventure takes place in 1984 when Snake is almost 50 years old.  He also explained that producer Avi Arad helped him with his choice for Snake’s new voice – none other than 24’s Kiefer Sutherland.  The actor then spoke on the quality of the character and working with Kojima.

Konami then continued with a more in-depth look at Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 with MercurySteam’s Dave Cox.  The game, which takes place in modern day with flashbacks to the past, has you playing as Dracula using three new abilities, including a sword and dual claws.  Bits and pieces of gameplay footage were also shown, with Dracula being able to climb up and down walls when he isn’t fighting enemies.   A new trailer was unleashed, with Sir Patrick Stewart and Robert Carlyle returning for duty.  The showcase then concluded with a humorous Mega 64 vignette dedicated to Castlevania.

There you have it, Konami’s pre-E3 show.  A conspicuous lack of new games, but the Kiefer Sutherland/Solid Snake announcement is huge. Look for more coverage on Konami’s games in the days ahead.
