Jade Raymond and Ubisoft Toronto Working on the Next Assassin’s Creed

That's the game that will come AFTER this year's Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

Ubisoft Toronto will be helping to make the next Assassin’s Creed game after Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.  The developer is currently working on Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

“As we’re wrapping up Splinter Cell, we’re also looking to expand, so we’re going to be working on five different projects,” said Ubisoft Toronto head Jade Raymond to IGN.

Raymond was one of the lead producers behind the first Assassin’s Creed game.  It is expected that the sequel to Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will release in 2014.

“One of the franchises that’s very near and dear to me, Assassin’s Creed, is one of the ones we’re going to be collaborating on in Toronto, as well as one other big franchise which we’re not going to announce yet,” said Raymond, who noted that they’d be working with Ubisoft Montreal on two other major projects.

Ubisoft has established a system now where several studios are internally working on multiple Assassin’s Creed titles at any one moment.  For instance, Black Flag has been in development since Summer 2011 before Revelations released and eight Ubisoft studios have touched Black Flag in some way.
